==1) PROHIBITION OF DRINKING ALCOHOL FROM QURAN.==

Proof:-1
Allah Says,“They ask you (O Muhammad) concerning alcoholic drink and gambling. Say: In them is a great sin, and (some) benefits for men, but the sin of them is greater than their benefit”
(SURAH AL-BAQARAH 2 VERSE 219)

Proof:-2
Allah Says,“O you who believe! Intoxicants (all kinds of alcoholic drinks), and gambling, and Al Ansaab (stone altars for offering sacrifices to idols, the jinn, etc), and Al Azlaam (arrows for seeking luck or decision) are an abomination of Shaytaan’s (Satan’s) handiwork. So avoid (strictly all) that (abomination) in order that you may be successful.
Shaytaan (Satan) wants only to excite enmity and hatred between you with intoxicants (alcoholic drinks) and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of Allaah and from As Salaah (the prayer). So, will you not then abstain?
And obey Allaah and the Messenger (Muhammad), and beware (of even coming near to drinking or gambling or Al Ansaab, or Al Azlaam) and fear Allaah. Then if you turn away, you should know that it is Our Messenger’s duty to convey (the Message) in the clearest way”(SURAH AL-MAIDAH 5 VERSE 90-92)

=2) PROHIBITIION OF DRINKING ALCOHOL FROM SUNNAH.==

Proof:-3
It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar (r.a) that:The Prophet [SAW] said: “Every intoxicant is unlawful and every intoxicant is Khamr.” (Sahih)
SUNAN NASEEI (Vol. 6, Book 51, Hadith 5585)
SUNAN NASEEI (Vol. 6, Book 51, Hadith 5586)
SUNAN NASEEI (Vol. 6, Book 51, Hadith 5587)
SUNAN NASEEI (Vol. 6, Book 51, Hadith 5588)
SUNAN NASEEI (Vol. 6, Book 51, Hadith 5589)
SUNAN NASEEI (Vol. 6, Book 51, Hadith 5590)
SUNAN NASEEI (Vol. 6, Book 51, Hadith 5702)
SUNAN NASEEI (Vol. 6, Book 51, Hadith 5704)
SAHIH MUSLIM (Book 23, Hadith 4964)
SAHIH MUSLIM (Book 23, Hadith 4966)

Proof:-4
It was narrated from Salim bin ‘Abdullah, from his father, that:
The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: “Allah has forbidden Khamr, and every intoxicant is unlawful.” (Hasan)
SUNAN NASEEI (Vol. 6, Book 51, Hadith 5703)
SUNAN NASEEI (Vol. 6, Book 51, Hadith 5591)
SUNAN NASEEI (Vol. 6, Book 51, Hadith 5598)
SUNAN NASEEI (Vol. 6, Book 51, Hadith 5600)

Proof:-5
It was narrated that Ibn ‘Umar said:
“Intoxicants are unlawful in small or large amounts.” (Sahih)
SUNAN NASEEI (Vol. 6, Book 51, Hadith 5701)

Proof:-6
Narrated Ibn `Umar:I heard `Umar while he was on the pulpit of the Prophet saying, “Now then O people! The revelation about the prohibition of alcoholic drinks was revealed; and alcoholic drinks are extracted from five things: Grapes, dates, honey, wheat and barley. And the alcoholic drink is that which confuses and stupefies the mind.”
SAHIH BUKHARI (Vol. 6, Book 60, Hadith 143)
SUNAN NASEEI (Vol. 6, Book 51, Hadith 5582)

==3) PUNISHMENT FOR DRINKING ALCOHOL.===

Proof:-7
Anas reported that Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) used to strike forty times with shoes and palm branches (in case of drinking of) wine
SAHIH MUSLIM (Book 17, Hadith 4230)

Comment:-But there is some difference of opinion as to the number of lashes. The majority of scholars are of the view that it is eighty lashes for a free man and forty for others. They quoted as evidence the hadeeth of Anas

Proof:-8
Narrated Anas:That a man who had drunk wine was brought to the Prophet (p.b.u.h), so he beat him about forty times with two stalks of a palm tree. So Abu Bakr did similarly, and by the time ‘Umar became Khalifah he sought council from the people. And ‘Abdur-Rahman bin ‘Awf said: ‘I see that the lightest penalty is eighty lashes,’ so ‘Umar ordered that.
SUNAN TIRMIDHI (Book 13, Hadith 26)

Comment:-The Sahaabah agreed with ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) and did not differ. The Council of Senior Scholars is agreed that the punishment for one who drinks wine is the hadd punishment, which is eighty lashes. Some of the scholars – such as Ibn Quddamah (may Allaah have mercy on him) and Shaykh al-Islam [Ibn Taymiyah] in al-Ikhtiyaaraat – think that giving more than forty lashes is left to the discretion of the Muslim leader. So if he thinks that there is a need to give more than forty lashes, as happened at the time of ‘Umar, then he may make it eighty. And Allaah knows best.”(TAWDEEH AL-AHKAAM 5/330)

==4) RULING ON DRINKING ALCOHOL.=====

Drinking alcohol is a major sin, for wine is the mother of all evils. It clouds the mind, wastes money, causes headaches, tastes foul, and is an abomination of the Shaytaan’s [Satan’s] handiwork. It creates enmity and hatred between people, prevents them from remembering Allaah and praying, calls them to zina [unlawful sexual relationships], and may even call them to commit incest with their daughters, sisters or other female relatives. It takes away pride and protective jealousy (gheerah), and generates shame, regret and disgrace, and puts the drinker in the same category as the most imperfect type of people, namely those who are insane. It leads to the disclosure of secrets and exposure of faults. It encourages people to commit sins and evil actions. It makes people transgress sacred limits and the one who is addicted to it is like an idol-worshipper. How many wars has it started, how many rich men has it made poor, how many noble people has it brought low, how many blessings has it destroyed, how many disasters has it caused? ,How often has it created division between man and wife? ,How much regret has it generated and how many tears has it caused to flow? ,How often has it closed the doors of goodness to the drinker and opened the doors of evil to him? ,How often has it brought about calamity and hastened death? ,How much trouble has it brought to the one who drinks it? It is the source of sin, the key to evil; it takes away blessings and brings calamity. Even if it did not have all these evil consequences, the fact that one cannot have both the wine of this world and the wine of Paradise is sufficient deterrent. And the evil consequences of alcohol are many time they are as follows.

Proof:-9
Allah Says,'“O you who believe! So avoid (strictly all) that (abomination) in order that you may be successful.Shaytaan (Satan) wants only to excite enmity and hatred between you with intoxicants (alcoholic drinks) and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of Allaah and from As Salaah (the prayer).

1-ALCOHOL IS MOTHER OF All EVILS.

Proof:-10
Narrated Ibn Abbas the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Alcohol is the mother of all evils, the greatest of major sins. Whoever drinks it may end up committing incest with his mother, his maternal aunt and his paternal aunt.”

IMAM ALBANI SAID :-This hadeeth is hasan on the basis of corroborating evidence,.(SILSILAH AL-SAHEEHAH 1853)

Proof:-11
It was narrated from Abu Bakr bin ‘Abdur-Rahman bin Al-Harith that his father said:”I heard ‘Uthman, may Allah be pleased with him, say: ‘Avoid Khamr for it is the mother of all evils. There was a man among those who came before you who was a devoted worshipper. An immoral woman fell in love with him. She sent her slave girl to him, saying: We are calling you to bear witness. So he set out with her slave girl, and every time he entered a door, she locked it behind him, until he reached a beautiful woman who has with her a boy and a vessel of wine. She said: ‘By Allah, I did not call you to bear witness, rather I called you to have intercourse with me, or to drink a cup of this wine, or to kill this boy.’ He said: ‘Pour me a cup of this wine.’ So she poured him a cup. He said: ‘Give me more.’ And soon he had intercourse with her and killed the boy. So avoid Khamr, for by Allah faith and addiction to Khamr cannot coexist but, one of them will soon expel the other.” (Sahih)
SUNAN NASEEI (Vol. 6, Book 5, Hadith 5669)

2-ALLAH HAS CURSED THE DRINKER OF ALCOHOL.

Proof:-12
Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar:The Prophet (p.b.u.h) said: Allah has cursed wine, its drinker, its server, its seller, its buyer, its presser, the one for whom it is pressed, the one who conveys it, and the one to whom it is conveyed.
(ABU DAWOOD (Book 26, Hadith 3666)

3-THE ONE WHO IS ADDICTED TO ALCOHOL IS LIKE ONE WHO WORSHIP IDOL. :-

Proof:-13
It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The one who is addicted to alcohol is like one who worships an idol.”

Narrated Ibn `Umar:
Allah’s Apostle said, “Whoever drinks alcoholic drinks in the world and does not repent (before dying), will be deprived of it in the Hereafter.”
SAHIH BUKHARI (Vol. 7, Book 69, Hadith 481)

Proof:-16
Ibn ‘Umar reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying:Every intoxicant is Khamr and every intoxicant is forbidden. He who drinks wine in this world and dies while he is addicted to it, not having repented, will not be given a drink in the Hereafter.
SAHIH MUSLIM (Book 23, Hadith 4963)
ABU DAWOOD (Book 26, Hadith 3671)

5-DRINKER OF ALCOHOLIC DRINK IS NOT A BELIEVER AT THE TIME OF DRINKING. :-

Proof:-17
It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said:”The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: ‘The adulterer is not a believer at the moment when he is committing adultery, and the wine drinker is not a believer at the moment when he is drinking wine, and the thief is not a believer at the moment when he is stealing, and the robber is not a believer at the moment when he is robbing and people are looking on.’” (Sahih)

6-PRAYER (SALAH) WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED FOR FORTY DAYS.

Proof:-18
It was narrated that ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Amr said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever drinks alcohol and gets drunk, his prayers will not be accepted for forty days, and if he dies he will go to Hell, but if he repents, Allaah will accept his repentance. If he drinks wine again and gets drunk, his prayer will not be accepted for forty days, and if he dies he will go to Hell, but if he repents, Allaah will accept his repentance. If he drinks wine again and gets drunk, his prayer will not be accepted for forty days, and if he dies he will go to Hell, but if he repents, Allaah will accept his repentance. If he does that again, Allaah will give him to drink of the mud of khabaal on the Day of Resurrection.” They said, “O Messenger of Allaah, what is the mud of khabaal?” He said, “The juice of the people of Hell.”

Proof:-19
Narrated ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar:
That the Messenger of Allah (p.b.u.h) said: “Whoever drinks Khamr, Salat is not accepted from him for forty days. If he repents, then Allah will accept his repentance. It he returns to it, then Allah will not accept his Salat for forty days. If he repents, then Allah will accept his repentance. If he returns to it, then Allah will not accepts his Salat for forty days. If he repents, then Allah will accept his repentance. If he returns to it a fourth time, Allah will not accept his Salat for forty days, and if he were to repent, Allah would not accept his repentance, and he will be given to drink from the river of Al-Khabal.” They said: “O Aby ‘Abdur-Rahman! What is the river of Al-Khabal?” He said: “A river of the pus from the inhabitants of the Fire.”(SUNAN TIRMIDHI (Book 22, Hadith 2)

Proof:-20
Urwah bin Ruwaim narrated that :Ibn Ad-Dailami rode looking for ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr bin Al-’As. Ibn Ad-Dailami said: “I entered upon him and said: ‘O ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr, did you hear the Messenger of Allah [SAW] say anything concerning Khamr?’ He said: ‘Yes, I heard the Messenger of Allah [SAW] say: If a man among my Ummah drinks Khamr, Allah will not accept his Salah for forty days.’” (Sahih)
SUNAN NASEEI (Vol. 6, Book 5, Hadith 5667)

Comment:-ABU ‘ABD-ALLAAH IBN MANDAH SAID:The phrase “his prayers will not be accepted” means that he will not be rewarded for his prayers for forty days, as a punishment for drinking alcohol. This is like what they said about the one who speaks when the imam is delivering the khutbah on Friday: he prays Jumu’ah [Friday prayer] but there is no Jumu’ah for him, meaning that he will not be given the reward for praying Jumu’ah, as a punishment for his sin.
(TA’ZEEM QADR AL-SALAAH, 2/587, 588)

AL-NAWAWI SAID :With regard to his prayer not being accepted, what this means is that he will not be rewarded for it, even though it is valid, and he does not have to repeat it. The Muslim has to fear Allaah and beware of the wiles and snares of the Shaytaan [Satan]. He should not let his soul become a plaything of the Shaytaan. If his Shaytaan overpowers him and makes him fall into sin and disobedience towards his Creator, then he must hasten to repent, because.

Proof:-21
Narrated Abu Ubaidah ibn Abdullah the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The one who repents from sin is like one who did not sin at all.”IBN MAJAH (HADITH 4250)

==5) RULING ON SELLING ALCOHOL TO NON-MUSLIM.==

It is not permissible to deal in foods and other things, such as alcohol, that Allaah has prohibited, even if one is selling to kaafirs, because it was reported that

Proof:-22
Narrated Abu Hurairah:The Messenger of Allah (p.b.u.h) as saying: Allah forbade wine and the price paid for it, and forbade dead meat and the price paid for it, and forbade swine and the price paid for it.
ABU DAWOOD (Book 23, Hadith 3478)

Proof:-23
Jabir b. ‘Abdullah (Allah be pleased with them) reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying in the Year of Victory while he was in Mecca:Verily Allah and His Messenger have forbidden the sale of wine, carcass, swine and idols…..
SAHIH MUSLIM (Book 10, Hadith 384)
SUNAN NASEEI (Vol. 5, Book 41, Hadith 4261)
SUNAN NASEEI (Vol. 5, Book 44, Hadith 4673)
ABU DAWOOD ( Book 23, Hadith 3479)
SUNAN TIRMIDHI (Book 10, Hadith 99)

2-NOT ONLY THOSE WHO DRINK ALCOHOL ARE CURSED BUT ALSO THOSE WHO DEAL WITH CURSED BY ALLAH. THEM DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY .

Proof:-24
Narrated Anas bin Malik:“The Messenger of Allah (p.b.u.h) cursed ten involved in wine: The one who presses it, the one who has it pressed, its drinker, its carrier, and the one it is carried to, its server, its seller, the consumption of its price, the one who purchases it and the one it was purchased for.”SUNAN TIRMIDHI (Book 10, Hadith 97)

Proof:-25
Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar:The Prophet (p.b.u.h) said: Allah has cursed wine, its drinker, its server, its seller, its buyer, its presser, the one for whom it is pressed, the one who conveys it, and the one to whom it is conveyed.ABU DAWOOD (Book 26, Hadith 3666)

===6) RULING ON WORKING IN A COMPANY,RESTAURANT,STORES ETC WHERE ALCOHOL IS SOLD.==

1-Working in alcohol Company,Restaurant is haraam and is an evil, because

Proof:-26
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):“Help you one another in Al Birr and At Taqwa (virtue, righteousness and piety); but do not help one another in sin and transgression”(SURAH AL-MAIDAH 5 VERSE 2)

2-NOT ONLY THOSE WHO DRINK ALCOHOL ARE CURSED BUT ALSO THOSE WHO DEAL WITH CURSED BY ALLAH. THEM DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY. :-

Proof:-27
Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar:The Prophet (p.b.u.h) said: Allah has cursed wine, its drinker, its server, its seller, its buyer, its presser, the one for whom it is pressed, the one who conveys it, and the one to whom it is conveyed.ABU DAWOOD (Book 26, Hadith 3666)

Comment:-So you have to look for another, permissible job, and be certain that provision comes from Allaah, and Allaah will not forsake His believing slave. Beware of letting hardship and difficult circumstances push you into seeking provision by disobeying Allaah, may He be exalted.

Proof:-28
Narrated Jaabir ibn ‘Abd-Allaah said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “O people, fear Allaah and be moderate in seeking a living, for no soul will die until it has received all its provision, even if it is slow in coming. So fear Allaah and be moderate in seeking provision; take that which is permissible and leave that which is forbidden.”
(IBN MAJAH (HADITH 2135)

SOURCE OF IBN MAJAH-http://islamweb.net/hadith/display_hbook.php?bk_no=173&hid=2135&pid=42926

You should also remember that whoever gives up something for the sake of allaah, allaah will compensate him with something better than it,

Proof:-29
Narrated from Abu Qataadah and Abu’l-Dahma’ who said: We came to a man from among the people of the desert and said: Did you hear anything from the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)? He said: Yes, I heard him say: “You will never give up anything for the sake of Allaah, may He be glorified and exalted, but Allaah will give you something better than it in instead.”(MUSNAD AHMAD (22565)

==7) RULING ON MEDICINE CONTAINING ALCOHOL.==

1-Medical treatment is something that is prescribed in sharee’ah, but it must be by using things that have been prescribed by Allaah, may He be glorified and exalted, and by His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), because this is what may contain the cure. As for that which Allaah has forbidden, there is no healing in it. One of the things which indicate that it is forbidden to treat disease with haraam things in general and with alcohol in particular because

Proof:-30
Ibn Mas’ood (may Allaah be pleased with him) says, “Allaah did not put your healing in that which He has forbidden to you.”
(FATH UL BAARI UNDER THE COMMENTARY OF 5291 HADITH OF SAHIH BUKHARI)

http://www.islamweb.net/newlibrary/display_book.php?bk_no=11&ID=151&idfrom=1496&idto=1508&bookid=11&startno=3

Proof:-31
Narrated Abu al-Darda:The Prophet (p.b.u.h) said: Allah has sent down both the disease and the cure, and He has appointed a cure for every disease, so treat yourselves medically, but use nothing unlawful.(ABU DAWOOD (Book 28, Hadith 3865)

Proof:-32
Wa’il al-Hadrami reported that Tariq b. Suwaid a-Ju’fi asked Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) about liquor. He forbade (its use) and he expressed hatred that it should be prepared. He (Tariq) said:I prepare it as a medicine, whereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: It is no medicine, but an ailment.
SAHIH MUSLIM (Book 23, Hadith 4892)

2-It is not permissible to mix medicines with alcohol, because alcohol must be thrown away.

Proof:-33
Narrated Abu Al-Waddak:
That Abu Sa’eed said: “We had some wine that belonged to an orphan. When Al-Ma’idah was revealed I asked the Messenger of Allah (p.b.u.h) about it, I said: ‘It belongs to an orphan.’ He said: ‘Spill it out.’(SUNAN TIRMIDHI ( Book 10, Hadith 65)

==8) RULING ON USING VESSELS THAT ARE USED FOR DRINKING OF ALCOHOL.===

It is better for a Muslim to avoid using vessels that are used in drinking of alcohol, but if he cannot find anything else then it is permissible for him to use them on condition that he wash them with water before use.

Proof:-34
Abu Tha’labah al-khushani said that he asked the Messenger of Allah(may peace be upon him):We live in the neighbourhood of the People of the Book and they cook in their pots(the flesh of) swine and drink wine in their vessels. The Messenger of Allah(may peace be upon him) said: If you find any other pots, then eat in them and drink. But if you do not find any others, then wash them with water and eat and drink (In them).ABU DAWOOD (Book 27, Hadith 3830)

Comment:- Please Consult Scholars about the Rulings
SHAYKH IBN ‘UTHAYMEEN SAID :With regard to some medicines that contain alcohol, if the effect of the alcohol in the medicine can be seen in the form of intoxication, then it is haraam, but if no effect is seen, and the alcohol is only added to it as a preservative, then there is nothing wrong with it, because the alcoholic content does not have any effect.
(LIQAA’AAT IL-BAAB IL-MAFTOOHAH 3/231)

==9) CONCLUSION.===

There are very many haadeet and reports which state that alcohol is emphatically forbidden and that it is the mother of all evils; whoever falls into this sin, it will lead him into other evil actions. We ask Allaah to keep us safe and sound. And I'm really grateful to Allah(Subhan Wa'tala) and thereafter my brother Aijaz
